The city of Toronto was graced this past Sunday with Switchfoot’s “The Beautiful Letdown Tour 2024” making their stop at History commemorating over 20 years of the iconic album! The group would bring along Lostboycrow as the night’s opener. Lostboycrow, is a young and talented artist with a voice that echos ambience throughout any venue he plays in. When the lights cut he marched out onto the stage with his intro playing, through the faint light of his campfire he could see the light of the flame flicker onto the crowd lighting up some faces and conversing with them before performing his first song “Thursday”. Later in the set, I was captivated by Crow’s heartfelt speech about listening to Switchfoot since his childhood all the way to now opening for their tour. He appropriately complimented his words with a performance of “Since the day I was born” and then finished his set with multiple fan favourites. The time came for Switchfoot to take the stage – as the room started to glow of gold lights the long haired surfers rushed the stage and started firing their song “Ammunition” at the crowd  who was instantly being blown back by their presence! Seeing how much energy the crowd had, Front-man Jon Foreman jumped down from the stage and into the arms of loving attendee’s. Travelling from one side of the crowd to the other “This is your life” was being chanted with the singer lyric for lyric. This would be the first of multiple times Jon decided to be involved with the crowd. Later surfing a stool and guitar to the centre of the Switchfoot pits, and sporting a mink coat to have a beautiful singalong of their hit song “Twenty-Four”. Before saying goodbye to the audience, they invited multiple die hard fans onto the stage to play “Company Car” per their request! They closed the night with an encore of “Where I belong”.

You can catch Switchfoot on the “The Beautiful Letdown 2024” tour on select dates until November 11th, bringing multiple talented openers along side them.
