Indie-folk band Wilderado played a sold out show at San Francisco’s historic Fillmore on Friday night. Hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, the group recently released their sophomore LP titled “Talker”. The group performed with the energy and heart they’re known for, appearing genuinely grateful to be playing the famous venue. Speaking of opening at the Fillmore 5 years prior, front-man Max Rainer remarked, “we finished that show and said ‘we gotta, we gotta sell this place out one day […] so now the only thing left to do is enjoy it, right?”. Touring regularly since 2016, Rainer spoke about touring fatigue and the difficulties of life on the road, especially as his kids who sweetly spent the show at the barricade, grow older. “The reason we do it is for right now because eventually the sun goes down and all these people gather in these rooms all across the country and we sing these songs together and there’s something healing about it for us every single time,” he said, “so let’s not worry about where we were before and where we’re going after, let’s just all collectively be in one place together”. Sing these songs they did! Wilderado put on a great show, showcasing their talent with varied tracks from their discography, from slower tracks like “In Between” to crowd pleasers such as “Surefire” and closing out the night with their biggest hit “Rubble to Rubble”. The band came on late following two openers The Takes and fellow indie folk artist Ethan Tasch, both of whom put on a solid performance. Having seen Wilderado open for Mt. Joy at Red Rocks in 2022, this writer was pleased to see how the band has grown and the many fans who were thrilled to support them on this headlining tour. Their talent was evident, as well as their genuine love of music. With steady beats that have you nodding your head and melodies that make you sway. We hope to see them continuing to tour while spending time with the families that they evidently love greatly.

You can check out Wilderado on their few remaining tour dates of 2024 in Austin, Tulsa, and Chicago. Also. be sure to listen to their new album Talker wherever you get your music. Finally, you can follow Wilderado on Instagram for more photos and future updates on band @Wilderado_
