Downstairs at Piranha Bar, Canadian metal band 2 Shadows brought their Dark Nation tour to Montreal. With this stop marking the latter half of their North American tour, they gave an enthusiastic performance supported by Change My Brain With Cakes, who hail from Quebec city. Opening the night, Change My Brain with Cakes gave their all in a high energy set, often interacting with one another and jumping into the crowd. They had a flair for theatrics, with striking costumes and retro TV’s displaying lyrics and visualizers during their set. Entering the stage to applause, 2 Shadows jumped right into their set with an infectious enthusiasm. In the intimate venue the band could interact directly with fans and feed off each other’s energy. Having played the venue before, they remarked on a number of familiar faces in attendance. Performing through their discography, 2 Shadows included their popular rendition of Green Day’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and Korn’s “Here to Stay”. They closed the night off with “Screamworks” to rousing cheers from the audience.
