R&B Singer/song writer Tori Kelly recently took to the stage in Toronto for one of her Canadian dates of her “Purple Skies Tour” which has been making its way across North America during fall 2024. The concert took place on October 22nd at the History concert venue and featured an opening performance from pop singer UK Maisy Kay. Torri Kelly is currently on tour to promote her latest album titled “Tori” which was released back in April and contains some of her best work to date including her hit single “Missin U”. Personally, I love the retro R&B vibes we hear on a lot of the tracks on this project such as the song titled “Cut” which features some late 90’s style production on the beat from the legendary Timberland who actually was producing hits like this back in 1998. Something that continues to be popular in today’s music and film is the idea of: what is old can be made new again – of course with a modern spin on it. For her live performances on this tour, Tori would bring along a live drummer as well as a keyboardist to support her on stage. We have come to expect top notch lighting and sound at the newish History venue in Toronto but Tori Kelly would bring it to the next level. The stage set came complete with stairs and platforms which were all outlined with stunning, florescent pink lights. I have shot many concerts at History since it’s opening but the vibrant and bright lighting at this show was one of my favourites when viewing from the crowd. “The Purple Skies Tour” is scheduled to continue on through November with show dates on the west coast of America as well as a short European tour at the beginning of December so check your local listings for concert dates near you. As a special treat for the fans, we included a short video clip featuring the hit song “Cut” performed live in Toronto at History which is linked in just below via the Musik Mirage YouTube channel.
