Last week, indie/electronic band LEISURE performed live at Oakland, CA’s popular Fox Theatre on Wednesday. Hailing from far away New Zealand, LEISURE took the stage in matching monochromatic black outfits to the delight of fans of all ages. From the opening numbers like “Lonely Nights” (this author’s favourite song by LEISURE) through some fan favourites such as “Slipping Away” and “Got It Bad” – the group kept a steady pace with fans dancing and singing along. LEISURE would form back in 2015 after all members had already kick started individual music careers in Auckland. Since then, they’ve put out five studio albums as a group, including their new September 2025 release titled Welcome to the Mood. After the opening act Bay Ledges (a Bay Area local), warmed up the crowd, LEISURE performed a mix of songs from across their discography that allowed all members to shine, including several to sing lead vocals.  Unfortunately LEISURE’s U.S. tour is coming to an end, but our international readers can check them out on tour in Europe in cities like London, Paris, and Berlin through mid-December. Whether you saw them live or not you can still check out some exclusive visuals in our photo gallery from the show at the Fox Theater on November 5th.
