If Not For Me, Nevertel, Rain City Drive, and Memphis May Fire made for a four-band lineup at the Howard Theater on Sunday night in Washington DC that brought a mix of personality, precision, and power to the stage for a tightly executed night of live music. If Not For Me opened with a burst of energy driven by the front man’s heavy, rhythmic stomps-an instantly engaging presence that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Their physicality on stage made their set feel alive and grounded, pulling the crowd in early. Nevertel followed with a standout dynamic of their own. With two vocalists sharing the spotlight, their set was full of back-and-forth interaction, trading parts and playing off each other in a way that made the performance fun to watch as much as it was to hear. It gave the room a boost and kept the momentum rising. Rain City Drive brought a smooth,well-executed performance delivering a live sound that hit just as cleanly as their recordings. Their tight performance showed off their melodic strengths and proved why they’ve built such a strong live reputation.
Closing out the night was the main event Memphis May Fire who delivered a well-rounded set and undoubtedly stood out from the rest of the night’s card. Their set-list blended older fan favourites with fresh new material, giving both longtime listeners and newer fans plenty to grab onto. The band played with confidence and clarity, bringing a powerful finish to an already dynamic show. The band will continue on with The Shapeshifter Tour Part 2 with concert dates scheduled into December.
