After having a successful 2025 US tour, Glaive comes to Los Angeles to perform his last show in the US after having to postpone his earlier set due to the fires taking place in the city. Despite the quick change in venue, he still managed to secure a sold out house at The Regent in downtown LA and was able to show off and show out before he departs to Europe to continue touring. With no opener, the 20 year old singer from North Carolina successfully brought in and engaged his crowd on his own and gave a memorable performance for his fans. The singer’s hyper-pop infused songs came crashing into the building and fans were already singing along to his songs as soon as the first note hit. Additionally, mosh pits were already circling the floor as most fans were well familiar with his work and were excitedly singing out the lyrics to each song. This intense energy from the crowd stems from Glaive’s intense personality on stage as he hardly ever stood still for a moment. From one moment to the next, he was jumping and running across the stage and encouraging everyone to sing, dance, and mosh. Although I’m used to photographing the punk/hardcore space, there was so much familiarity in seeing his show. It was truly inspiring to see that the etiquette that I was raised on is still seen in this space where everyone was still looking out for each other and making sure everyone is safe while still being rowdy. Despite what we see on TikTok and even in person with other crowds being rude/boring, this crowd of younger people gave me a ton of faith in the new generation of concert goers and made me realize that concert culture is still alive and well. Thankfully it didn’t fall victim to the pandemic. With a stacked set-list ranging from “ik”, “Freudian”, and “tijuana freestyle”, I was thoroughly entertained and immersed in the musical landscape he eloquently crafted by mixing in elements of hip hop and pop punk into his hyperpop soundscape. As he finished up his set and entered into the encore, Glaive decided to tease his new song titled “we don’t leave the house” and has mentioned that he not only intends to release it but he has more new music on the way as well. As Glaive continues to be on the rise, his fan base remains loyal and I’m excited to see just how far he’s going to go in his music career and how much he’ll evolve as a musician.
