Canadian singer/songwriter Lauren Spencer-Smith is currently touring North America for The Art of Being a Mess Tour. Last Wednesday night she completed two concerts on back to back dates at History in Toronto which included supporting acts Sadie Jean and Maisy Kay. There was definitely a party like atmosphere inside the venue with fans enjoying drinks and taking selfies together. Some younger concert goers could be spotted at the front railing along with a guardian – some of which were probably getting their very first taste of live music. Undoubtedly a great choice for those just getting into music as Lauren Spencer-Smith is known not only for her talent as a singer but also as a great role model for young adults and children with her uplifting lyrics with self empowering messaging. The singer is on the road promoting her latest album titled ‘The Art of Being a Mess’ that was released last summer and was a follow up to her previous studio album ‘Mirror’ from 2023 which received high praise internationally. The singer is starting the year with this musical journey across Canada & US with a stage theme featuring a bus stop bench, a pay phone and street signs displaying things like “Emotional arrival zone” among other things. At the start of the performance the pay phone at the left side of stage started to ring and lit up with red LED lights just before the live band took its place at the back left side. Lauren Spencer-Smith would go on to play a 21 song set list in Toronto including tunes such as “28”, “Parallel Universe” and “Flowers” . Right after a performance of “Somebody you’re suppose to love”, the singer brought a lucky fan up to the stage which turned out to be a little girl who got to spin the wheel which determined a cover song they would play next. The wheel would be spun and ultimately landed on Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” which the crowd erupted for. The show wrapped up with “Sticks & Stones” and would send the fans in attendance home happy. Lauren Spencer-Smith is scheduled to be on the road for the rest of the month so check your local listings for more concert dates in your area or head over to her Instagram page @LaurenSpencerSmith for more information on the artist.
