Montreal punk band NOBRO took over Toronto’s Lee’s Palace for their Doomtown Tour on Thursday, December 4th. It has been an absolute treat seeing the now evolved quintet grow since our first coverage back in February of 2024. Skyrocketing to a well deserved JUNO Award Winner status (for Rock Album of The Year), crushing it out on stage with Toronto legends PUP this past July, along with their phenomenal cover of Reservoir; NOBRO are set to dominate in 2026. Not to mention there is brand new music on the way, which you can hear two new songs at their upcoming shows (hint hint), the unreleased track Til I Get it All and their new single, Doomtown.Doomtown is a melancholic track highlighting one’s worst fears and the place where it can all stem from or where you can get lost in. You can hear the raw emotion coming from lead singer Kathryn McCaughey, it’s a painfully honest track. Though, it wasn’t all doom at the show. Getting to see an all girl mosh pit for Where My Girls At? was so sweet, and dare I say? The ladies went harder in the pit than the boys did, sorry boys! A fan was even brought on stage at the end to dance and crowd surf, it looked like she was having the time of her life. The band was also all laughs and smiles, joking with each other in-between songs.  Toronto nu-metal band Klokwise started the night with an amazing cover of Limp Bizkit’s Break Stuff before ripping through their own tunes. Their energy was unmatched, I was hoping the lead singer was going to jump into the crowd at some point. And you may recognize the bassist, Dave Monks, the former singer of the now disbanded Tokyo Police Club (rip). Highly recommend Klokwise for any nu-metal fan looking to add a fun and punchy new act to their music rotation. The Doomtown Tour has come to a close for 2025, but you can still catch NOBRO on tour in the United States as they are supporting The Front Bottoms starting December 12th until December 19th. 2026 is already starting to look great for NOBRO as they’ll be on tour with The Descendants and Frank Turner starting February 13th. Then they’re hitting up the West Coast as a continuation of their headlining tour on April 17th in Victoria, BC. Surely, we’re bound to see way more of NOBRO in 2026 and I for one, can’t wait!
