Canadian indie pop band Valley kicked off their debut UK tour in style on Saturday evening with a sold-out show at London’s iconic Scala concert venue. With some audience members having waited since 2016 to see the band live, anticipation was palpable in the packed-out auditorium. Fans were rewarded for their patience with a crowd-pleasing set-list of favourites from across the band’s discography, ranging from 2024’s “Water the Flowers”, “Pray for a Garden”, break through early hit “Swim” and MAYBE’s iconic “There’s Still A Light In The House”. Despite having only arrived in the country a day before and dealing with the accompanying jet lag, the band were on top form and performed their multi-instrumental duties with an infectious enthusiasm that was mirrored by a vocal and attentive crowd. The trio’s love and appreciation for their international fan base was evident throughout the evening and culminated in lead singer Rob Laska making his way into the crowd to perform the tune “Bop Ba”. Surrounded by a chorus of fans repeating the song’s titular refrain, it was clear that Valley have truly made a splash in the United Kingdom. Moreover, the band promised the audience that this would not be their last time in the country and have plans underway for a full tour of the nation.
