One artist who has been featured on Musik Mirage a few times in our short time on the scene is Canadian singer/songwriter Jamie Rose. Today, we are highlighting the singer’s latest single titled “Risky” and the unplugged music video that goes along with it. In the spirit of doing something different for this latest visual, Jamie Rose performs a live rendition of this new tune on a roof top in Calgary. Shot in one continuous take with a warm sunset illuminating frame along with the iconic Calgary skyline in the background – all together it provides the perfect mixture to give that live performance feel. With stripped down production and limited instrumentation, Jamie Rose puts all the emphasis on her vocals on this one. The single was officially released on March 9th with the music video dropping not long after on March 13th which signalled the start of a new era of music for the international artist. The music video was filmed by Jose Lacera with editing and colour grading being done in house by Rose Motion TV. Production for “Risky” came from regular collaborator and fellow Rose Motion member Malik Garraway along with New Zealand based composer EDYONTHEBEAT to complete the track. With smooth and free flowing lyrics, Jamie Rose seamless combines a sound from 2000’s R&B with a modern twist. Although most listeners will have their own opinion on what the song is about, I think its clear that love and seduction is a big part of the underlying theme.
