Live Loud Returns For Second Year In Toronto

On September 10th, 2026 the benefit concert Live Loud returned for its second year (in association with Matthew Perry House and Make Music Matter) and this time taking over Massey Hall with many Canadian stars dazzling the stage. Ticket proceeds went to support various mental health and addiction recovery organizations.

The evening kicked off with a lovely red carpet where big names within the music industry alongside CEO of Make Music Matter, Darcy Altman, Mary Deacon, Founder of Bell Let’s Talk and Caitlin Morrison, Executive Director of Matthew Perry House.

Hosting the show this year was Canadian Actress and Singer Lauren Ash, bringing in her natural charm and comedic wit to the show. The line up of musicians was no short of celebrity status. Which included performances by Fefe Dobson, The Washboard Union, Bif Naked, Aysanabee,The Strumbellas, and more. All artists brought their A-Game and some spoke from the heart on how mental health or addiction has affected their lives. The same sentiment rings through the entire night - you’re not alone.

Make Music Matter

Beginning in 2006, now CEO Darcy Altman started by producing and writing Song for Africa. Which was to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Altman gathered different recording artists for the song and music video, proceeds then went to different organizations in Africa. Years later, Make Music Matter launched a therapy program, Healing in Harmony. Throughout the years and leading into present day, Make Music Matter has been involved in countless organizations to make their mission and voice heard from across the world. It’s events such as Live Loud that remind us that there are people out there in our corner. Speaking from personal experience, I found that music became a safe and healing space in the darkest times of my life. Even now, I dive into certain albums that feel like home, safe. Now being an adult and getting to see that the artists I spent hours listening to support such an important cause, in a way feels full circle. Affirming that this is important to them too as it is to us. Mental health and addictions have affected so many people and there should be more organizations, programs and help from the government in order to help individuals who need it most.
