UK based artist HAYLA brought her DARK Tour to Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday, August 14th, in support of her latest album of the same name. Lizzy Jane opened up, bringing energy as the crowd filled the venue. The two share a clear through line: the juxtaposition of vocal-forward songwriting over heavy dance production. HAYLA's set mixed both new and old, ending with some of her more popular hits - including collaborations with electronic mainstays like John Summit and ILLENIUM. The DARK motif is fully committed on stage; lighting is minimal, and HAYLA is only a shadow for a good portion of the show. But cracks of light shine through in the production, lyrics, and even her musings between songs. She is clearly deeply appreciative of her fans, and of the opportunity to perform. Her fans show this appreciation back! A personal highlight was the tune “Where You Are”; with just the first notes played, an overjoyed fan started repeatedly shrieking "Oh my God!" over and over. Though more vocal than most, this enthusiasm was in no way out of place.

The DARK Tour is scheduled to continue through Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and beyond the rest of this month. Check out some exclusive images from the concert just below in our photo gallery.
