Indie folk band Of Monsters and Men brought their Mouse Parade tour to Oakland’s Fox Theatre on Wednesday, November 26th. It was the evening before Thanksgiving and the show was completely sold out. Fans of all ages were eager to welcome the band back for their return after a number of years without touring in the United States. Hailing from Iceland, Of Monsters and Men performed songs from throughout their discography – from their newest record titled All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade (just released on October 17th) all the way back to their debut My Head Is An Animal from 2011. Audience members were prepared for their new songs, singing along and cheering when favourites like “Television Love” opened up the set. The crowd would frequently give standing ovations, including after the tune “Crystals” from their second album Beneath the SkinOf Monsters and Men are highly talented musicians and continue to prove it with live shows like this, also serving as the inspiration that turned this writer into a concert junkie back in 2012.Whether you’re a new fan or have been a listener since “Little Talks” went viral, we recommend catching Of Monsters and Men live the next time they play in your area. They’re currently wrapping up their tour of North America next month in December but our international readers can still catch them on tour in the new year in cities like Glasgow, London, Paris, and Brussels in early 2026.
