Sir Rod Stewart may be 80, but his swagger, soul, and stagecraft are timeless. Performing to a sold-out crowd at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, the British rock icon turned his “One Last Time” tour into a masterclass in charisma, nostalgia, and unapologetic showmanship. Opening with the punchy 1984 hit “Infatuation”, Stewart took fans on a journey through decades of rock royalty including a version of Kim Weston’s “It Takes Two” and “The First Cut Is the Deepest” first made famous by Cat Stevens. Each song was delivered with Stewart’s signature raspy vocals and full-body shimmying — from silly arm wiggles to heartfelt twists, he gave everything he had. Same goes for his choice in seamless and flamboyant evening attire featuring hot pink blazers, leopard prints, and classic glam rock flair. Each look matched the mood of the music, from sultry ballads to high-octane anthems. Elsewhere, the concert’s set design featured gleaming white staircases and luminous furnishings, transforming Budweiser Stage into a surreal disco dreamscape. It was the perfect backdrop for Stewart’s blend of sleaze (ie. “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”) and sincerity. Speaking of which, in quieter moments — like the tender “Tonight’s The Night (Gonna Be Alright)”, Stewart stripped away the spectacle and let his voice do the talking. It was here that fans glimpsed the Rod Stewart who became a legend, not just the entertainer he’s evolved into. After cancelling several U.S. dates due to illness, Stewart’s return to Toronto was triumphant. If this truly was his final bow for Canadian fans, he left the crowd with memories and a message that they’ll carry for years. For those that missed the show, your in luck because we have captured some visuals from the concert in our exclusive photo gallery just below.
