Sueco arrived in Toronto to put on a punk rock fueled show at the Danforth Music Hall this past Sunday. In support of his clothing brand and 3rd album, “Attempted Lover” which kick started the Canadian leg of this tour. Anticipation for the independent artist’s set to start was growing rapidly as the stage was getting prepped with studded guitars and claymore mic stands. What the attendees didn’t know is that Sueco was already in the crowd, disguised in a tour hoodie from the merch stand to pull off the surprise. As the band walked on the stage and ordered the crowd to split in two right down the middle, Sueco marched through the pits before jumping on stage and hitting a ground-shattering stomp to introduce the track “Bathroom Floor” followed by “Anastasia” and the classic “SOS” which had the crowd bouncing front to back! The night was filled with many fan favourite songs and crowd surfers from the ticket holders and the band themselves. Sueco took the term crowd surfing literally and brought a surfboard to ride the waves of the crowd, proceeding to jump off and into the embrace of his “Suecotics”. The remainder of the set had a perfect arrangement of songs from recent projects “Attempted Lover” and “It was fun while it lasted”. The show closed with Sueco’s biggest hit “Paralysed” and the act left the stage briefly before coming back out to play a double encore of “Mulholland Drive” as well as “Motel 666”. Before the venue went dark, the performers gave the crowd a signed vinyl, Limited edition hat, shirts, tote bags, and many bracelets to thank everyone for ‘The best night of the tour’ in their words.
