Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis took London by storm on Friday evening with a sold-out show at the capital’s iconic Eventim Apollo. The first of two London dates on his ‘The Epilogue’ world tour, Lewis enthralled a passionate audience with a varied set list including international hits ‘Waves’, ‘How Do I Say Goodbye’ and ‘Be Alright’. Accompanied by a three-piece band, the singer-songwriter showcased his multi-instrumental talents throughout the evening by playing both guitar and piano whilst delivering a powerful and emotive vocal performance. Fans were also treated to a brand-new song (set to be released in a few months’ time) alongside crowd-pleasing covers of Gracie Abrams’ ‘That’s So True’ and the Goo Goo Dolls classic ‘Iris’. Lewis captivated the crowd with his radiant charisma and excellent showmanship, waving at fans during his opening songs and throwing guitar picks to audience members in the front row. Clearly exhibiting a deep appreciation for his fans, the artist also made sure those seated in the venue’s upper circle were treated to something special by moving the performance upstairs for heartfelt performances of ‘Half A Man’ and ‘Last Bit of Us’. The evening’s most memorable fan interaction would come shortly after however, with Lewis calling a young girl from the front row up on stage to gift her his back-up guitar. Despite the melancholic nature of much of his work, Lewis demonstrated the collective joy of live music with a triumphant show that will be well-remembered by his London fan base. Supporting Dean Lewis was rising singer-songwriter Sofia Camara, who warmed up the crowd with an energetic performance of impassioned pop anthems. Camara was well-received by Lewis’ fans, who quickly picked up her lyrics during a moment of audience interaction and sang their hearts out to a cover of Chappell Roan’s ‘Good Luck, Babe!’. For those that didn’t get a chance to attend the concerts in London, you can still check out our exclusive photo gallery just below featuring both artists at the Eventim Apollo on February 7th.
